What is the difference between Asasi and Foundation?

Asasi is run by public universities, applied for via UPU, and costs a few hundred ringgit. Foundation is run by private universities, applied for directly, and costs tens of thousands. Both take one year and both tie you to that university's degree programmes.

Can I transfer to another university after Foundation?

Sometimes, but it is the main risk of this route. Foundation programmes are designed as internal feeders, so other universities may not recognise them or may require extra bridging. Confirm transferability in writing before you enrol if you want to keep the option open.

What SPM results do I need for Asasi?

The baseline is five SPM credits, but competitive Asasi Sains places at universities like UM and USM realistically need credits in Mathematics and two science subjects, often at B and above. Requirements vary by university and are published each UPU cycle.
