Post-SPM decision windows

The usual order of the year after SPM. Dates are typical windows, not announced dates. Check the official source before you act.

1. UPU appeal window

   Short, often under two weeks. An appeal is free and doesn't cancel your existing offer.

2. Registration & first semester

   approximate

   usually September – October

   Hostel, PTPTN and first-semester fees all land in the same fortnight. Budget for them together, not one at a time.

3. Matriculation application window

   approximate

   usually February – March

   Applications usually open before results are out. You apply on forecast grades, so don't wait for the slip.

4. Main scholarship season

   approximate

   usually March – June

   Most of the big sponsors open within weeks of results. Applications are long, so start the one you're most likely to get first.

5. SPM results released

   usually April – May

   Collect your slip, then enter your real grades here. Everything on your plan sharpens the moment you do.

6. UPU application window (SPM leavers)

   usually May – June

   Rank up to 12 programmes and complete at least 6 choices. Order matters; confirm the current rules in UPU before submitting.

7. Matriculation offers

   Check your status on the KPM portal. Accepting one doesn't have to end your other options; check the terms before you decide.

8. UPU results

   You get one offer, not a list. If it isn't what you hoped for, the appeal window opens straight after, so don't wait.
