Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 August 2026

Agreement

These terms apply when you use degreemate.my (“Degreemate”, “we”). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to them. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should review these terms with you.

What Degreemate is

Degreemate helps Malaysian students and parents compare post-SPM pathways (STPM, Matriculation, Foundation, Diploma and TVET) alongside universities, programmes, careers and scholarships, using public and licensed data sources described on How we work.

Recommendations, cost estimates, merit calculations and career outcomes shown on the site are estimates for planning purposes, built from the sources listed on that page. They are not a guarantee of admission, cost, scholarship eligibility or career outcome, and they do not replace the official information published by UPU, universities, or scholarship providers, which always takes precedence.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at degreemate.work@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

You agree to give accurate information (SPM results, preferences, and similar inputs); the quality of your recommendations depends on it. Don’t use the service to impersonate someone else or to submit information you don’t have the right to submit.

No commission, no ranking bias

We take no commission or fee from any university, college or employer in exchange for how they appear in your results. This is a product commitment, described in full on the How we work page, and it is part of the basis on which you are using this service.

Subscriptions and payments

Degreemate offers a free tier and a paid subscription with additional limits and features. Paid subscriptions are billed through Curlec and renew automatically until you cancel from your account settings. Fees are shown before you pay and are charged in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR) unless stated otherwise.

You can cancel your subscription at any time; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current billing period unless required by law. If a payment fails, we may suspend access to paid features until it is resolved.

Acceptable use

Don’t attempt to scrape, reverse-engineer, resell, or overload the service; don’t use it to harass others or post unlawful content (for example, in reviews); and don’t attempt to bypass the free-tier limits other than by subscribing.

Content you submit

If you submit a campus review, feedback, or survey response, you give us permission to display and use it on Degreemate (for example, in aggregated review scores). You remain responsible for what you submit and confirm it is honest and your own.

Intellectual property

The Degreemate name, design, and the recommendation engine are our property. Public data we display (rankings, fees, deadlines) belongs to its original source and is used as permitted by that source.

Disclaimer and liability

Degreemate is provided “as is”. We work to keep the information on the site accurate and current, but pathway rules, fees, deadlines and scholarship terms change, and we cannot guarantee the site is error-free or always available. To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, we are not liable for decisions made based on information from the site, or for indirect losses arising from your use of it.

Ending your access

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these terms, including for abusive use or non-payment of a subscription.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes. If we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the product.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.
