IPG (Teacher Training)
Direct entryInstitut Pendidikan Guru (IPG), run by KPM, trains school teachers. SPM-leavers enter PISMP (Program Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perguruan): a 1-year foundation (PPISMP) followed by a 4-year teaching degree, about 5 years in total. It is fully sponsored with a monthly allowance, and comes with a service bond: you're posted as a qualified teacher after graduating. PISMP has a separate KPM application portal and selection process; it is not applied for through UPUOnline.

Typical entry requirements
- Malaysian citizen, aged 22 or below (as of 30 June of intake year)
- Credit in 6 SPM subjects incl. Bahasa Melayu & English, plus a pass in Sejarah
- Pass MUET, an interview (pedagogy/BINA test) and a medical check
