Quick answers
With my SPM results, which courses can I apply for?
This page checks your grades against the minimum grade requirements of 698 UPU programmes for SPM leavers (MOHE e-Panduan UPUOnline (Lepasan SPM)): Diploma (524), Asasi/ Matrikulasi/ Foundation (90), Sijil - Kredit Graduat Min 60 (82) and Sarjana Muda (2). Programmes where you meet every minimum grade requirement are marked "likely eligible". That is not an offer: merit, quotas, interviews and other conditions still apply.
Does "likely eligible" mean I will get an offer?
No. It only means your grades meet the minimum grade requirements we could read. An offer depends on your merit against other applicants, quotas, interviews and conditions we could not check. Always read the programme's official requirements on the UPU portal before you apply.
How is UPU merit calculated?
UPU uses the Ministry of Higher Education's official Merit 2.0 formula: merit out of 100 is an academic mark worth 90% plus a co-curriculum mark from 0 to 10. Academic = (Universal + Package + Best 2) ÷ 80 × 90. Universal subjects (40%): BM · English · Mathematics · Sejarah, out of 72 points. Package subjects (30%): Your best 2 stream subject(s), out of 36 points. (STEM C counts 1 subject, out of 18 points.) Best 2 remaining (10%): The 2 highest of your other subjects, out of 36 points. A manual calculation can differ from the official calculator by up to two decimal places (rounding).
When are the SPM 2026 results released?
Not yet announced by Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) as of 1 October 2026. KPM usually announces the date only one to three weeks ahead. The SPM 2025 results came about 14 weeks after the last written paper; the SPM 2026 written papers end on 17 December 2026, so the pattern points to around late March 2027. That is a pattern, not an official date.
Can I still apply or change my UPU choices after the SPM results are out?
In the last cycle, the SPM 2025 results came out on 31 March 2026 and UPU applications for the 2026/2027 session closed on 13 April 2026, 13 days later. The coming session's dates may differ; check the current status at upu.mohe.gov.my.
