Works in an Islamic bank, takaful operator or Islamic capital-market firm to research Shariah rulings, vet products and documents, and carry out Shariah review, risk and audit work required by Bank Negara Malaysia's Shariah Governance policy, usually after a degree in Shariah, Muamalat or Islamic finance.

How people get into it here: SPM (Arabic and Pendidikan Islam help) → STAM, STPM, Matriculation or Asasi → a bachelor's degree in Shariah, Fiqh and Usul Fiqh, Muamalat or Islamic finance (many public universities, INCEIF for postgraduate) → graduate or Shariah-trainee programme at an Islamic bank or takaful operator → Shariah officer in research, review, risk or audit, with professional certificates (e.g. Certified Shariah Advisor) helping progression. Accounting, finance and risk graduates who learn Shariah can also enter the review, risk and audit roles.
