Engineer who designs ships, patrol boats, offshore vessels and platforms, working out their stability, structure and power, for shipyards in Lumut, Johor and Sarawak, classification societies, O&G offshore contractors and marine consultancies. You need an engineering degree such as UTM's BEM-accredited Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering.

SPM (strong Physics, Add Maths) → Matrikulasi, Asasi, STPM or Diploma in Mechanical/Marine Engineering → Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering (e.g. UTM) or Mechanical/Marine Engineering → register as a Graduate Engineer with BEM → junior naval architect/design engineer at a shipyard, class society or offshore contractor → Professional Engineer (Ir.) after experience and IEM assessment.
