You can enter this career straight after SPM. A degree is optional, not required.

How people get into it here: SPM (or SVM in a related field) with a credit in Bahasa Melayu → apply on SPA9 for Pegawai Imigresen KP1 (meet height, BMI and eyesight rules) → basic training → posted to a border checkpoint, airport or passport office. With STPM, STAM, Matriculation or a diploma you can enter as Penolong Penguasa Imigresen KP5; with a degree, as Penguasa Imigresen KP9.
