SPM → diploma or degree in law, accounting, business or corporate administration → start as a company secretarial assistant or executive at a corporate secretarial firm, audit firm or listed company → complete the MAICSA Chartered Secretary programme (ACIS; SPM or diploma holders may enter through its foundation level) or qualify through MIA, MACS or as a lawyer → apply to SSM for a practising certificate to act as a named company secretary.
