Civil Defence Officer (APM)

Uniformed member of the Malaysia Civil Defence Force who runs disaster relief, flood evacuation, rescue and emergency ambulance services, joined after SPM or SVM through SPA9 as Pembantu Pertahanan Awam KP1.
You can enter this career straight after SPM. A degree is optional, not required.

- SPM or SVM with a credit in Bahasa Melayu (SKM Level 2 or 3 gives a higher starting pay) → meet height (1.57 m men, 1.53 m women), weight, BMI and eyesight rules → apply on SPA9 for Pembantu Pertahanan Awam KP1 → basic training → posted to a district APM office for disaster, rescue and ambulance duties. With STPM, STAM, Matriculation or a diploma you can enter as Penolong Pegawai Pertahanan Awam KP5.
