The Ministry of Education announces the method and the date in a media statement a few weeks before results day. The details below are from the statement for SPM 2025, issued on 9 March 2026, which is the most recent results day. Expect the same three methods next time, but confirm the web address, the SMS number and the times in the new statement.
When results come out
The date for SPM 2026 results has not been announced, and we will not guess it. Results usually come out around March to April of the following year. The most recent set, SPM 2025, was released on 31 March 2026. Watch key dates for the announcement.
Three ways to check
| Method | What you get | SPM 2025 details |
|---|---|---|
| School | Your result slip, in person | From 10am on 31 March 2026 |
| Online | Your result slip | myresultspm.moe.gov.my, from 10am on 31 March to 6pm on 6 April 2026 |
| SMS | A summary of your results | Type SPM NoKP AngkaGiliran, send to 15888, same period as online |
At school. School candidates collect results from their own school. Private candidates contact the State Education Department (JPN) where they registered for the exam.
Online. Go to myresultspm.moe.gov.my and enter your identity card number and your angka giliran, the index number on your exam registration. The site is switched on only for the announced period. For SPM 2025 that was seven days.
SMS. The message is the word SPM, a space, your identity card number, a space, then your angka giliran. The reply is a summary, not the slip.
Two practical points. Find your angka giliran before results day, because every method except walking into school needs it. And save a copy of the online slip while the site is open, since it closes after about a week.
What the slip shows
The slip lists each subject you sat with the grade you obtained, from A+ down to G. Three things to read first:
- Bahasa Melayu and Sejarah. These two are named in the general entry requirement for public foundation and diploma programmes. See credits, passes, BM and Sejarah.
- Your credits. Count grades of C and above, and note which subjects they are in.
- Anything marked T. The Examinations Board treats a T as a separate case that can be reviewed, including for candidates who did attend and sit the paper.
Also check your name, identity card number and subject list against what you registered. Report any error to your school straight away.
The first 48 hours
- Get the slip and make copies. Scan it. You will upload it many times.
- Update your matriculation application. For the 2026/2027 intake, KPM allowed SPM candidates to update or submit an application within five days after results. Details in applying for matriculation.
- Check your UPU choices against real grades. The 2026/2027 UPU circular scheduled the SPM-leaver phase to close on 23 March 2026, before results, and deadlines can be extended. Look for the update or extension notice on the UPU portal, then re-run your numbers in the merit calculator.
- Enter your grades in the [plan builder](/plan) to see what you now qualify for, including diploma and TVET routes.
- Look at scholarships now. Several open and close shortly after results. Start at scholarships.
- Decide on a re-mark early. The clock starts on results day.
If the results are below what you hoped, read when SPM results are lower than expected before you decide anything.
Requesting a re-mark (semak semula)
For SPM 2025, the rules published by the education department were:
- Fee: RM100 per subject.
- Where: fully online at elp.moe.gov.my, or through the e-Lembaga Peperiksaan (e-LP) app.
- Window: 30 days from results day. For SPM 2025 that was 31 March to 29 April 2026.
- T cases: a candidate who attended and sat the paper but received a T can apply for a review at RM100 per subject, refunded if the result changes.
The Examinations Board notifies you whether the result is unchanged (kekal) or changed (berubah). If it changes, a new result statement is issued through your school, or through JPN for private candidates.
Do not put applications on hold while you wait. Apply everywhere with the grades you have. If a grade changes later, tell the institutions concerned. A re-mark is worth requesting when one grade sits just under a requirement you need. If the gap is wider, a retake is the realistic fix. See the SPM retake guide.
