Check your results at the official source
- SPM results are checked on KPM's official site: myresultspm.moe.gov.my.
- SPM 2025: results released 31 March 2026
- SPM 2024: results released 24 April 2025
- Ignore sites claiming the date has been announced. Only a KPM media statement counts.

Work out your UPU merit
- Merit (100%) = academic marks (90%) + co-curricular marks (10%). This is KPT's Merit 2.0 method.
- Academic marks: BM, English, Maths and Sejarah (40%), your stream's package subjects (30%) and your two best other subjects (10%), scaled to 90.
- Merit helps you see which programmes are realistic. It is not a guarantee of a place.

Order your UPU choices with care
- In the last two sessions applications opened between late January and mid-February, before the SPM results, and closed about two weeks after them. KPT announced the opening only a few days to a week ahead.
- Check the general and specific requirements of the programmes you want now, before applications open.
- Order your choices from the most demanding to the safe ones. The order matters.
- Programmes with an interview or test usually have to be applied for in the first phase.

Step 4 of 5
Prepare backup routes
- The appeal window is short. Decide your fallback programmes before results day, not after.
- In the last two sessions the results came about seven to eight weeks after the SPM results, and KPT announced the date about two weeks ahead. Appeals opened the same day and ran for 10 days.
- Matriculation: You apply before the SPM results, so do not wait for your results slip.
- Polytechnics: SPM 2026 candidates: your route into a polytechnic is UPUOnline for 2027/2028, not this Session II.
